Anticc diagnoses and treats rising and penetrating damp across Chatham, the Medway towns and Kent. Because we work on roofs as well as damp, we establish whether water is coming up through the structure or in from above before any treatment starts, then treat the cause and make good the wall. All work carries a ten year insurance backed guarantee.
Most Damp We See Has Been Treated Once Already
Somebody injected a wall, replastered it, and it looked solved. A year or two later the same patch is back, because the water was never coming from where they treated.
Rising damp, a leaking chimney, failed flashing, a blocked gutter, cracked render and high ground levels can all leave the same mark on the same wall. Telling them apart is the entire job, and it is the part that gets skipped.
We Check Above the Wall as Well as Below It
We look at the inside where the damp is showing, and we look at the outside, including the roof by drone, the gutters and downpipes, the flashing, the chimney, the render and the pointing.
We check the ground levels against the wall, whether the existing damp course has been bridged, and whether anything has been built up outside that is now holding water against the brickwork.
Then we tell you what is causing it. If the answer is that you need a gutter cleared rather than a wall injected, that is what we will say.
How the Job Runs
01
Free survey inside and out, including a drone flight where the roof needs checking.
02
We explain what is causing the damp and show you what we found.
03
Written itemised quote for dealing with the cause and making good.
04
The cause is fixed first, whether that is roofline, render, pointing or the damp course itself.
05
Affected plaster removed, the wall treated and replastered with a suitable system.
06
Photos through the job, and the site left clean.
What Changes the Job
What is actually causing the damp, and whether the fix is external, internal or both.
How far the damp has travelled and how much plaster has to come off.
The age and construction of the wall, including solid wall or cavity.
Whether the existing damp course has failed or been bridged.
Whether skirtings, floors or joinery have been affected.
Ground levels and external drainage around the wall.
We give you a fixed written price after the survey, not a figure over the phone.
How We Treat It
THE DAMP COURSE
- Chemical damp proof course injection where the original course has failed.
- Removal of bridging, such as raised ground levels, debris in a cavity or render carried below the damp course.
EXTERNAL CAUSES
- External repairs to the cause, from pointing and render to guttering and flashing.
MAKING GOOD
- Salt resistant renders and replastering so the finish does not blow again.
- Improved ventilation where condensation is part of the picture.
Ten Years, Insurance Backed
Every job we finish carries a ten year guarantee on workmanship and materials, insurance backed through the Confederation of Roofing Contractors.

Questions People Ask
Is it rising damp or condensation?
They look different once you know what to check. Rising damp usually shows a tide mark at a fairly even height with salting. Condensation tends to appear in corners, on cold surfaces and behind furniture, and is worse in winter. We check which one you have before quoting.
Can you treat damp without finding the cause?
You can, and that is why so much damp work fails. We will not do it that way.
Do I need to redecorate afterwards?
Yes, once the new plaster has dried out properly. We will tell you how long to leave it before you paint, because painting too early is a common cause of finishes failing.
Will the damp come back?
Not if the cause was dealt with. That is why the diagnosis matters and why the work carries a ten year insurance backed guarantee.
Do you charge for the survey?
No. The survey is free, including the drone flight if the roof needs looking at as part of it.
Can you treat damp in a rented property?
Yes, and we work for landlords across Medway. You get photographs and a written record of what was found and what was done.
