Anticc carries out exterior painting and redecoration across Chatham, the Medway towns and Kent, covering rendered and masonry walls, woodwork, and roofline. We prepare surfaces properly, deal with the reason the previous coating failed, and use coatings suited to the substrate. All work carries a ten year insurance backed guarantee.
Paint Does Not Fix What Is Underneath
Exterior paint fails early for the same handful of reasons every time. It went onto a damp wall, onto a surface that was not prepared, or over render and timber that had already failed.
Painting over that hides it for a season. Then it flakes, and the wall or the timber underneath is worse than when you started.
We Prepare, and We Say What Needs Fixing First
We check the surfaces and tell you what needs repairing before anything is painted, whether that is render, pointing, timber or guttering.
We look for damp, because painting a wall that is holding water traps it and the coating lifts.
Then we prepare properly and use a coating that suits the surface rather than whatever is quickest to apply.

Questions People Ask
How long will exterior paint last?
It depends on the coating, the exposure of the elevation and, above all, the preparation. Poor preparation is what makes paint fail early, and it is the part that gets skipped when a price looks low.
Can you paint in winter?
Some of it, but coatings need suitable temperature and dry conditions to cure. We would rather tell you to wait for a workable window than apply something that will fail.
Do I need repairs before painting?
Sometimes, and we will tell you plainly if you do. Painting over failed render or rotten timber wastes the money you spend on the paint.
Do you paint fascias and guttering too?
Yes, and if the roofline is beyond painting we will tell you, because replacing it in UPVC may be the better answer.
Will you protect the windows and the garden?
Yes. We sheet up, protect glass and ground, and clean down as we go.
