A failing pitched roof that needed its structure and weather protection restored.

What We Found

The covering had deteriorated badly. The old felt was torn and brittle and no longer keeping water out, and once the tiles came off it was clear the underlay had broken down completely in areas, leaving the roof open to leaks and internal damage.

What We Did

The roof was stripped back to the rafters, removing all old battens and degraded felt so the timber structure could be inspected and confirmed sound. A new high quality breathable membrane was installed across the full roof, acting as a secondary barrier while allowing airflow to prevent condensation. New treated battens were then fixed, accurately spaced to suit the existing tiles and maintain correct gauge and alignment.
