You cannot check a roof from the ground, which is why so many people feel stuck when the quotes come in. We fly the roof with a drone and show you the footage first, so you are looking at the same pictures we are.


Then the work runs with photos and video coming through, so you can follow it while you are at work. Scaffolding and rubbish are cleared the day we finish.

Jobs We've Finished Recently

The roof was stripped back to the rafters, removing all old battens and degraded felt so the timber structure could be inspected and confirmed sound. A new high quality breathable membrane was installed across the full roof, acting as a secondary barrier while allowing airflow to prevent condensation. New treated battens were then fixed, accurately spaced to suit the existing tiles and maintain correct gauge and alignment.
A new breathable membrane across the entire roof, then new treated battens accurately spaced for the replacement tiles. The property was re-tiled in modern interlocking concrete tiles in a dark finish. New lead flashing was installed and dressed around the chimney stack for a watertight seal at all junctions, and the abutment where the roof meets the wall, including the low level window detail, was fully reworked with new lead soakers and cover flashings. All verge and edge details were finished neatly.
The exterior was inspected and prepared, loose paint removed and the walls cleaned down to a sound surface. Careful work around the windows, door frame, decorative mouldings and roofline gave sharp edges. A high quality exterior masonry paint was then applied to the rendered front elevation in a fresh blue, with the white trim around the windows and doorway refreshed for contrast.

Common Roofing Questions

  • Do I need a new roof or will a repair do?

    Often a repair is enough, and we will tell you so. A roof with sound timbers and a failed section is usually a repair. A roof where the covering has come to the end of its life, the membrane has gone and slipped tiles keep coming back is where a re-roof stops being throwing money at it. The drone survey is what settles it.

  • Do you charge for the survey?

    No. The survey is free and it includes a drone flight over the roof. You see the footage before we quote.

  • Why do roofing quotes look so different from each other?

    Usually because of what is left out. Scaffolding is the line most often missing from the cheaper quote, and timber repairs are the other, because nobody can see the rafters until the covering comes off. Ours includes the scaffolding and sets out the timber repairs up front, so you can compare it properly.


  • How long does a re-roof take?

    Two to five working days for most Medway properties, depending on the size and pitch of the roof, access, and the weather. You get a timeline with the quote.

  • Do you work in winter?

    Yes. Roofs fail in bad weather, which is when people need us most. Some work needs a dry window and we will tell you if that is the case rather than rushing it.

  • Do you cover my area?

    We are across Chatham, Rochester, Gillingham, Rainham, Strood and the surrounding Medway villages every week, and further into Kent including Maidstone, Sevenoaks and Tunbridge Wells.
