What They Called Us About

The existing roof had reached the end of its lifespan and the owner wanted a full replacement rather than more repairs, with modern materials built to protect the home for decades.

What We Found

Tired tiles, worn out battens and failing underlay across the whole roof. Once it was stripped off we inspected every section of the timber structure, and any weakened or weathered rafters were repaired or reinforced so the new roof would sit on a solid, long lasting frame.

What We Did

All existing tiles, ridge tiles and old battens were removed to expose the rafters and give a clean foundation, with waste safely lowered and disposed of responsibly. A high performance breathable membrane was laid across the entire roof to prevent water ingress while still allowing ventilation, then treated battens were measured, spaced and securely fixed to create level guidelines for the tiles. New tiles were laid working methodically from the bottom upward, each one clipped, fixed and aligned, chosen for a rich modern colour blend and strong resistance to wind, rain and frost. The chimney area was rebuilt with new lead flashings installed for a fully watertight seal, and two roof windows were carefully unseated and reinstated during the membrane and battening stage to maintain full waterproofing. Ridge tiles were fitted, all edges, verges and valleys tidied, the site cleaned, and a full aerial inspection carried out to check the roof from every angle.

How Long it Took

Around four working days.
