Our team at Anticc Roofing and Building recently completed a comprehensive damp proofing, tanking, and drainage installation project on a property in Gillingham, Medway. The property had been suffering from significant damp issues and poor drainage, which required a complete overhaul to protect the interior and exterior from ongoing damage.
Project Details:
Location: Gillingham, Medway
Duration: 4 Days
Services Provided: Damp Proofing, Tanking, and New Drainage System Installation
We began by addressing the internal damp issues. This involved removing the lower sections of plaster from affected walls to expose the brickwork. The walls were then treated with a high-performance damp-proof membrane, ensuring an effective barrier against moisture ingress. Following this, the walls were re-rendered and plastered, leaving them ready for final decoration.
For the external work, we installed a complete new drainage system. The existing system was outdated and ineffective, contributing to the damp problems inside the property. We excavated around the property to lay new drainage pipes, ensuring that rainwater and surface water were efficiently redirected away from the building. Linear drainage channels were installed around the perimeter, particularly near vulnerable areas such as the bay windows, to provide optimal water flow.
To finish, we repaired and enhanced the external paving by relaying sections of block paving to complement the new drainage channels. The paving was meticulously realigned to ensure proper water run-off towards the drains, adding both functionality and aesthetic appeal to the property.
This project has successfully resolved the property’s damp issues and significantly improved its drainage. The new system not only safeguards the structure against water damage but also enhances its overall appearance. Our clients were extremely satisfied with the results, particularly our attention to detail and the seamless finish of the work.
